Transportation Coordinator - temporary
Description
The Transportation Coordinator ensures customer orders are processed and shipped in an accurate and timely fashion. They also ensure all related documentation is provided and completed as required for shipping and customs purposes.
Qualifications
- Grade 12 with some post secondary education preferred
- 3 to 5 years related experience
- Logistics and/or warehousing experience would be an asset
- Ability to learn quickly and to work well under pressure to meet deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
Responsibilities
- Meets customer delivery request in a timely manner
- Provides necessary documentation and communication for customers, warehouses, brokers, transportation carriers and mill personnel
- Ensures the coordination of export shipments leaving the mill
- Provides documentation in a timely manner for all shipments leaving the mill
- Interface and maintain positive working relationships with internal operational personnel
- External communication with trucking representatives, warehouse personnel, customers and brokers
- Receive and print orders from Order Entry for the warehouse
- Process domestic and international couriers and /or sample shipments
- Verify NAFTA and ongoing broker and custom updates
- Liase with customer / brokers on issues that arise as well as coordinate all export documentation with transportation carriers daily
- Provide weekly bulk shipment corrections to UPS and customs for all US bound bulkers
- Report container information to the broker as per deadlines and provide completed paperwork to export for exporting. Complete RC’s for export carriers.
- Send in customer shipment information for daily invoicing.
- Provide daily COA information for QC on customer’s shipments as required
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) while performing tasks in production areas
- Other tasks as assigned
