Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Leads, the Maintenance Helper assists with general maintenance activities throughout the plant.
- A grade 12 education or equivalent.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude.
- Maintenance experience in an industrial setting.
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good working relationship with supervisors and fellow employees.
- Willing and available for shiftwork, including weekends, holidays and emergency callouts as required.
- Assists with maintaining the facility in good condition.
- Performs basic construction, painting, sanitation and other manual tasks.
- Communicates with other departments in a courteous and diplomatic manner, always showing a high degree of cooperation.
- Is aware of critical control points as they relate to product liability.
- Works responsibly throughout scheduled shifts.
- Responsible for compliance with Canada Labour Occupational Health and Safety requirements and company safety standards.
- Follows Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) while performing tasks in production areas.
- Performs other tasks, including training, as required.
