General Purpose:

The Industrial Maintenance Millwright will assist in the overall maintenance of all plant equipment, processes, facilities and grounds. The Millwright will be responsible for repairing large mill machinery, machine & corrugating moll’s, conducting periodic Preventative maintenance, condition-based maintenance, calibrations events and maintaining the plant following the maintenance program and policies.

Qualifications
  • Experience working in a combustible dust environment considered and asset
  • Capable of inspecting and diagnosing process problems across various processes
  • Required to troubleshoot mechanical, rotating, conveyor, pneumatic equipment and implement corrective action in adherence to all policy and procedure limitations
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, rotating equipment and systems
  • Proficient in utilizing a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Can interpret, read and modify and blueprints and drawings
  • Must be a team player, adaptable, and eager to take on new or additional duties as needed.
  • Highly organized with strong planning and problem-solving abilities
  • Available for shiftwork including afterhours, weekends, holidays and call outs as required
Responsibilities
  • Work with other departments to provide excellent customer service in repairing and maintaining production equipment to ensure minimal downtime and expanded operational life span to prevent operational disruptions
  • Complete assigned work orders issued by the maintenance manager and plant personnel
  • Independently respond to unscheduled breakdowns and make necessary repairs to keep production running
  • Installation of equipment and rigging practices: position, assemble, align and commission existing and new equipment and process as required on all mill machinery and use correct rigging and mechanical principles
  • Execute preventative maintenance events as directed in the established maintenance program; utilize the CMMS (D365) system to its functions of completing work orders, spare part ordering and asset program
  • Make recommendations for major overhauls, improvements, and replacement of equipment
  • Assessable and rebuilding of roll stands, overhauling existing roll stands and completing roll replacements as per production plan; complete rebuilding of other equipment such as gearboxes and process equipment within the workshop requirements
  • Operate and run corrugation machine for resurfacing roll stands as directed
  • Weld and fabrication on parts, components and equipment in the field where applicable
  • Install and commission new equipment and processes; complete required documentation for food safety requirements
  • Train and mentor personal where needed; apprentices, production and operational staff
  • Operate forklift truck and other company equipment; use company truck to pick up parts etc.
  • Understand critical control points (CCP) and Quality Assurance requirements for food safe standards
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) while performing job duties and tasks
  • Responsible for compliance with Canada Labour Occupational Health and Safety requirements and company safety standards
Experience
  • Interprovincial/Red Seal: Industrial Millwright (Journeyman) Certification
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience
  • Understanding of GMP food Safety
