1/2 cup ROGERS OAT BRAN 125 mL | |
2/3 cup walnuts, chopped 160 mL | |
1/2 cup sugar 125 mL | |
2 tsp. baking powder 10 mL | |
2 tbsp. cocoa powder 30 mL | |
1/2 tsp. salt 2 mL | |
1/2 cup milk 125 mL | |
2 tbsp. oil 30 mL | |
1 tsp. vanilla 5 mL | |
3/4 cup brown sugar 180 mL | |
3 tbsp. cocoa powder 45 mL | |
1 3/4 cups hot water 430 mL |
A cake-like pudding that can be made in minutes.
1. | Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). |
2. | Combine the flour, bran, walnuts, sugar, baking powder, 2 tbsp. cocoa powder and salt in a bowl. Stir in milk, vegetable oil and vanilla. Pour batter into a greased 8 x 8” (2 L) baking dish. |
3. | In a small bowl stir together brown sugar and 3 tbsp. cocoa powder. Sprinkle mixture over batter. Pour hot water over entire mixture. DO NOT STIR. Bake for 45 minutes or until done. Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream. |
