
| 1 3/4 cups ROGERS ALL PURPOSE FLOUR | |
| 1 cup Rogers Oat Bran | |
| 1/4 cup sugar | |
| 1 tbsp. baking powder | |
| 1/2 tsp. salt | |
| 1/2 cup raisins | |
| 2/3 cup butter or margarine, chilled | |
| 1 egg | |
| 1/2 cup milk | |
| 1 tbsp. grated orange rind | |
| 1 tbsp. milk | |
| 2 tsp. sugar |
Delicious with a hint of orange, these scones are quick and easy to make.
| 1. | Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). |
| 2. | Combine flour, oat bran, sugar, baking powder, salt and raisins. Cut in chilled butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Set aside. |
| 3. | Beat egg. Add milk and orange rind. Add liquids to dry ingredients all at once. Stir lightly with a fork until moistened. Knead 10 times. |
| 4. | Pat dough into two circles about 3/4″ (2 cm) thick on greased baking sheet. Brush tops with milk and sprinkle lightly with sugar. Score each circle into 6 wedges. |
| 5. | Bake on upper rack in oven for 15 minutes. Serve warm with butter. |
