1 cup ROGERS Porridges Oats & Healthy Grains, 250 mL
1 cup boiling water, 250 mL
1/2 cup margarine, 125 mL
1/2 cup sugar, 125 mL
3/4 cup brown sugar, 180 mL
2 eggs, 2
1 cup apple, grated
3/4 cup ROGERS No Additive or All Purpose Flour, 180 mL
3/4 cup ROGERS100% Whole Grain Whole Wheat Flour, 180 mL
1 tsp. baking soda, 5 mL
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon, 7 mL
1/4 tsp. cloves, 1 mL
1/2 tsp. salt, 2 mL

Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 350 F (180 C). Prepare 9” x 9” cake pan.
2.Combine Porridge Oats and boiling water: allow to cool.
3.Cream together butter, sugars and eggs. Stir in apple.
4.Combine these first 2 mixes.
5.Combine all dry ingredients and stir into the wet mixture.
6.Pour into cake pan and bake 45 to 50 minutes.
