250 ml (1 cup) Rogers Oats
125 ml (1/2 cup) breadcrumbs
125 ml (1/2 cup) grated parmesan cheese
3 eggs
60 ml (1/4 cup) sesame seeds
60 ml (1/4 cup) sunflower seeds
30 ml (2 tbsp) dry parsley
2.5 ml (1/2 tsp) freshly ground pepper
2.5 ml (1/2 tsp) paprika
5 ml (1 tsp) garlic powder
5 ml (1 tsp) onion powder
30 ml (2 tbsp) dried herbs
125 ml (1/2 cup) water
30 ml (2 tbsp) tamari or soy sauce
Salt, to taste
Vegetable oil, for cooking

You don’t have to be a vegan to appreciate how fantastic these ‘burgers’ taste. They are a great meal to try for your meatless Mondays.

Instructions

1.In a large bowl, combine the oatmeal, breadcrumbs, grated cheese, eggs, sesame and sunflower seeds, parsley, pepper, paprika, and vegetable flakes. Add the water and mix well until smooth. Leave to rest for 15 minutes.
2.Shape into 8 patties. If sticky, grease hands slightly when forming patties.
3.Heat a little vegetable oil in a large heavy skillet and fry the patties until golden brown.
4.Pour enough water to cover halfway up the patties, add the tamari and cook over medium heat for 10 minutes, turning them a few times in the cooking juices.
5.When the liquid is completely reduced, serve immediately.
